We are back at Palmerston for our third home game in a row. After two good results and performances in the league and cup against FC Edinburgh, we round of the first round of league fixtures against Alloa.
The last time we played each other was in season 2020/21 when football returned from the covid shutdown. In the curtailed season, the two sides faced each other on three occasions, the first time in November 2020, when Gregor Buchanan and Joe McKee scored to give us a 2-0 victory. The Wasps claimed all the points in the other two meetings, winning 2 -1 in Clackmannanshire and edging past us in a five-goal game the last time we played in Dumfries. Dapo Mebude and Euan East scored for us that day, but it wasn’t enough as Innes Murray, Liam Buchanan and a certain Lee Connelly were on target for the visitors.
Looking ahead to this weekend, Manager Wullie Gibson said “This weekend we round off the first quarter when we face Alloa. It hasn’t been the start that we hoped for, but I think we have shown in games, especially recently that we are a good side.
have been hampered with injury at times but that’s no excuse. I have openly said that we have been bullied during some matches and needed to get used to a new style of play. But in our two games against FC Edinburgh, we have been a lot stronger and got to grips with things. I think we have had a real competitive edge to our play and been ruthless. That’s what we need to be like.
I’ve always thought that we have the players to carry a threat going forward and in our last two games to score 8 goals against a side who have been doing well, I think proves it.
There is still more to be done but we are heading in the right direction. We are up against another well organised side in Alloa, so we need to build on our last two games and finish the first quarter on a high.

Supporters Information
HOME supports will be located within The Alpha Solway stand, along with the West section of the BDS and the Oakbank Terracing. While for this match AWAY fans will be located in section 7 in the East side of the BDS.
To gain entry to the BDS stand – HOME supporters should use turnstiles 1 & 2. Entry to the Oakbank Terrace will be via turnstiles 16 & 17 only. Please note that there will be no general entry to the BDS Stand via the terracing so please make sure you enter the ground via the correct turnstiles.
AWAY fans should use turnstiles 3 to gain entry to their section of the stand.
Turnstiles will be open for spectator entry at 1345.

Season Tickets:
With it being a league game, season tickets are valid. The email you received with your season ticket, and QR code(s), is all you will need for the season. The same QR code(s) should be scanned in at each game.

On the day prices for the game are:
Adults: £18
All Concessions (OAP/Students, 16–21-year-olds): £10
U16s: £5
All Accessible tickets: £8 (including carer)
Accessible Tickets for home and away fans include a carer ticket free of charge. When buying a ticket, please select one seat for the Accessible Ticket - the carers ticket will be allocated by the office after purchase. If you require a wheelchair space, these are marked on the seat map. The seat immediately behind the wheelchair spaces have already been reserved for carers.
Please note - all concessions and accessible ticket holders should bring proof of entitlement as this will be checked at the ground prior to entry.
Tickets will be available online until kick off or at the ground on the day of the game from the ticket office located within the QOS Arena which will open at 1230. There will be no ticket office open at the BDS Stand.
The only way to buy tickets in advance will be online.
Please note that tickets are not transferable or refundable.
Car parking will be available to all spectators within the Queen of the South Arena car park. It is suggested that buses/minibuses drop off their passengers in Terregles St/King Street and thereafter park on College Mains road just off the roundabout with the A76 on the town bypass (adjacent to Curry’s/PC World, as the other side at Aldi is the access road to the ambulance depot and is extremely busy). Pick up should be the same location as drop off. Supporters’ buses including minibuses will not be allowed to park in the Arena car park.
As far as we are aware there are no ongoing roadworks currently around Dumfries that may affect travel times to Palmerston Park. Fans should check the Traffic Scotland website at http://trafficscotland.org/index.aspx for confirmation of any delays.
The catering outlets within the supporter’s areas of the ground will also be open for use. And the bar under the Alpha Solway stand will be open to both sets of supporters’ pre-match.
QOS have adopted a robust and thorough search policy for spectators entering the ground to ensure that ground rules and regulations are strictly adhered to, especially in relation to pyrotechnic devices and controlled containers. We would like to remind supporters that letting off smoke devices is a criminal offence, and anyone found doing so will be referred to Police Scotland which may result in a custodial sentence. Not only is it against the law, but it is also extremely dangerous and a health hazard to other spectators. All bags will be searched and spectators presenting themselves for entry may also be subject to search. Spectators who refuse to be searched by stewards will be denied entry to the ground.
Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue, this includes e cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. No persons will be admitted to the ground who are deemed to be under the influence of alcohol.
Supporters should note that due to a UEFA ruling we are no longer providing a stream of matches this season.
The club shop located in the Arena will be open from 1300 until kick off where you can purchase our club merchandise.
Our Community Fridge located in the car park next to the Alpha Solway stand will be open tomorrow. The girls are in need of donations, so please drop off anything you can. They are in need of Cereals, Porridge, Long Life Milk, Tinned foods (soup, meats, fish, vegetables), Sanitary products
Baby products (nappies, food etc), Toiletries for both adults & children, cleaning products (washing up liquid/ bleach etc), Juice, Water & Treats (chocolate/ biscuits / crisps etc)
It is a great way for the club and its supporters to help those in need across the Community.
