As the manager continues to assemble a squad for next season, we are delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Church.

The 22-year-old joins on a two-year deal from Alloa Athletic. The defender spent 13 years in Celtic Youth set up before covid scuppered a potential move to Blackburn Rovers. Following the pandemic, Daniel signed a short-term deal with Dumbarton but has spent the past two years at the Indodrill where he played over 30 league and cup games for The Wasps last season.

Due his age we have agreed compensation with Alloa.

On signing Daniel said “I’m delighted to have signed for Queen of the South. After speaking to the Gaffer about the way he works and the style of football he wants to impose, it was clear in my head this is where I wanted to be. I’m familiar with some of the boys and the stadium having played against them in the league last season so I’m sure it’ll be an easy transition. The team finished on exceptional form last time and if we can pick up from that this campaign, I’m sure we’ll be successful”

The Gaffer said “Daniel is someone who has impressed me. He is young but has good experience of league one. He is a strong defender but also likes to get forward and showed that with goals and assists last year. I believe his quality will enhance the squad that is starting to come together.”
