Match Preview v Kelty Hearts 1st March 25

Feb 28 2025 15:00

We kick off our March fixtures with a home game against Kelty Hearts.

Tomorrow’s visitors have the upper hand when it comes to results, having won both games this season. They inflicted a 5-1 home defeat on us back in October, while they claimed the three points with a 2-0 victory in our away fixture in December.

Since we last faced each other Michael Tidser has moved on to Dunfermline and Charlie Mulgrew has taken over in the dugout. We will have to be on our guard as they go into the game on the back of their fourth straight defeat having lost away to leaders Arbroath in midweek.

There is nothing much separating the sides in the table, we do have a four-point advantage and sit fifth with 35 points, while Kelty are a place behind but do have a game in hand.

Ahead of the game tomorrow, Manager Peter Murphy said “Our home form has been good this season but our last outing against Arbroath was far from what we expected and we were bitterly disappointed with the performance we put in.

Apart for last time and our previous game against today’s opponents our home form has enabled us to get into a good position but last week we finally got a positive away win against a tough physical side. The players showed the other side of the game and dug in to win the battles all over the park. We need to build on that three-nil victory and try to put together a run as we are counting down the games to the end of the season.

Kelty have been on a sticky run of late albeit are playing some very good football but before beating Montrose the same could’ve been said about ourselves, so we can’t be complacent and we need to put in the hard graft as you don’t just turn up to win games.

We feel like we owe Kelty after they turned us over the last time at our own park and we owe the fans a response after that Arbroath defeat two weeks ago”.
