We are seeking a passionate and committed Voluntary Performance Analyst to join our backroom team. This is a valuable opportunity for aspiring analyst students to gain real-world experience in a competitive football environment. The successful candidate will support the first-team coaching staff by providing data-driven insights and video analysis to help enhance team performance and individual player development.
It’s a flexible part-time position that includes matchdays, training sessions, and analysis turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Film and/or collect match and training footage (home and potentially away fixtures).
- Conduct post-match and training video analysis using platforms such as Hudl, Wyscout, or VEO Systems.
- Tag and code events to produce performance reports and feedback clips for the coaching staff.
- Produce pre-match opposition analysis, including tactical strengths/weaknesses, key players, and set-piece strategies.
- Support live match analysis from the stands or via video where applicable.
- Maintain databases on player performance metrics and trends.
- Assist with recruitment analysis where required.
- Collaborate closely with coaches and support staff to deliver clear, actionable insights.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Strong understanding of football tactics, formations, and analysis principles.
- Competency with analysis software (e.g., Hudl, Veo, or similar).
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications or working towards a degree in Sports Science,
- Performance Analysis, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar analysis or scouting role.
- Familiarity with data platforms such as Wyscout.
