It was a good day for our youth sides as they travelled to face Kelty Hearts in their respective leagues and both picked up a victory.
The Under 17s travelled to New Central Park for an 11am kick-off.
They were one - nil up after a good move down the right, Tom Bolger crossed for Lucas Jones to head home. The hosts equalised from the penalty spot and Queens struggled to play their usual game with Kelty forcing a lot of errors and it remained level at the break.
Both teams battled with the wind in the second half but Jones scored a second and William Salfenmoser notching his 10th goal in three games to give Queens a two goal advantage. Kelty pulled one back from a set piece to set up a tense finale but the defence stood firm to secure the win.

Coach Ross Newlands said “It was a different type of game for the boys to deal with today but they held their own and produced a far better second half, missing a few chances along the way. It’s now three wins on the bounce and gives us momentum going on to our next game, a home match against Livingston.”
The under 19s had a later kick off at 2pm and Billy Gray scored a hat-trick in a five- nil win.
Callum Hill opened the scoring after six minutes before Gray scored his first of the afternoon from the penalty spot after 17 minutes. Josh Kelly added a third just before the half hour mark to give the boys a comfortable half time lead.
Gray extended the advantage with his second penalty before the hour mark and rounded off his treble five minutes later to secure an impressive win.

Coach Eddie Warwick said “It was a very good performance in difficult conditions. We are delighted with the way we started the game on the front foot and forced a couple of good saves from their goalkeeper before our first goal. We controlled the game after we went infront and played some very good football at times. It’s an away win and a clean sheet so all in all it’s been a good day.”
Both sides have home games against Livingston this week. The Under 19s on Wednesday night and the 17s on Friday. The games at Palmerston kick off at 7.45 pm.
