The under 19s were involved in a high scoring cup game last night away at Airdrie.
The boys travelled to the Excelsior Stadium for their latest CAS Cup group match and took the lead through a trememdous stike from Euan Ross who fired a left foot shot into the top corner from just outside the box.
The hosts hit back and scored two to hold the advantage at the break.
Half time: Airdrie 2 Queens 1
Early in the second half, Kylan Hunter scored to level but Airdrie went on to add another before Ross grabbed his second of the night with a free-kick to make it three all.
The goals continued to flow and the home side added a fourth before Queens equalised again as Ross completed his hat-trick.
With twenty minutes to go Queens fitness levels showed and while on the front foot they forced the home keeper to make three good saves but they couldn’t take advantage while on top and unfortunately due to poor game management Airdrie secured the win with a sucker punch in the final minutes.
