We are back on the road tomorrow as we head north to face Montrose at Links Park.
Both teams had been on a good run but go into the game on the back of defeats. After we lost at home to Alloa last weekend, tomorrow’s opponents went down 3-1 at Cove Rangers on Tuesday night and now sit sixth in the table, ten points behind us with a game in hand.
It’s honors even so far this season with both sides claiming home wins. In September on our last visit tomorrow’s hosts claimed the three points with a 2-1 win, Brennan Dickenson scoring late to pull one back for us that afternoon. While at Palmerston in December after a goal-less first half, Mikey Hewitt scored the only goal of the game minutes after the restart to give us a one-nil victory.
Ahead of the game, Manager Peter Murphy said “We've got to make sure that there's a bounce back from us, we need to go to Montrose and show that we are a better team than we have been in the last two games. We know they’re a difficult side to play, especially at their own place, the pitch is fairly new but they’ve had a number of games called off recently, with all the wood bark that they have on it, so it's a little bit different to what we are used to. We have been creating plenty of chances in our games but we need to be more clinical and punish teams when we’re on top.”
