Match Preview v Stenhousemuir - 7th March

Mar 6 2026 12:46

We have the second of our back-to-back home games tomorrow as we welcome Stenhousemuir to Palmerston.

The first two games of the season between the sides ending all square, a goal-less draw at Ochilview in August was followed by a one-all draw at Palmerston in November, when the visitors scored late to take a share of the points. However, in our last meeting, it was Stenhousemuir who secured the three points with a two-nil win on their own patch in our first game of 2026.

Gary Naysmith’s sides win over Hamilton in midweek moved them ten points clear of ourselves joint top of the table behind leaders Inverness on goal difference.

Ahead of the match, Manager Peter Murphy said “The last three weeks have been poor and we need to turn things around quickly. We are heading into the last quarter of the campaign and with nine games left there is still the opportunity for us to stay in the play-offs but we need to get back to being the side that we were during our positive run.

Stenhousemuir continue to pick up results and have proved over the past couple of seasons that they are a good side. Gary Naysmith has them well drilled and they deserve to be where they are. They’re consistent and are playing with confidence. We will need to be better and show a lot more fight than we did last week as we try to get back on track.”
