1st Half
Queens started brightly enough and on 2 mins Dom McMahon played through Peter Mendy whose shot was well saved. Hamilton began to dominate though and on 11 mins they fashioned a chance down the left again and Ryan One put Accies ahead.
Queens went on to have an Irving shot from a McMahon pass saved as the game moved from end to end. On 17 mins however Hamilton struck through Shells taking advantage of a possession won and doubled the lead. A minute later Queens replied when Dom McMahon took full advantage of a midfield ball dinked the keeper composed himself and slotted into an empty goal to get the young queens side back into the game. However four minutes later Hamilton restored their 2 goal cushion, Morgan feeding One down the left to finish well. The half finished with a tousy 15 minutes with no side really being on top.
3-1 at the break
2nd Half
2 mins into the 2nd half Queens gained a free kick and the shot was followed up by Irving who just missed the top right. Another queens chance as Foster narrowly missed the right hand post. 12 mins into the second half Cowie made a fine stop to deny Hamilton a fourth. A further Hamilton Accies was scorned at Queens back post.
Just after the hour Nathan Naylor came on for Oram and two minutes later he scored from a good Foster run. 3-2. On 70 mins McMahon won the ball and played it down the inside left channel for Mendy to move into the box and slot home well and make it 3-3.
On 73 mins Watson replaced Foster and the game carried on with Queens carrying the bigger threat pressing for a winner. However One made no mistake on 86 mins when he profited from a short back pass to Cowie and finished neatly. 4-3. Cammy Shaw replaced Mendy and, before the end, Scully saved any last minute blushes for Hamilton.
