Injury Update

Aug 1 2024 14:00

Ahead of the league season getting underway on Saturday, manager, Peter Murphy has provided an update on where we are with injured players.

Reece Lyon, picked up the hamstring injury through contact and is still very tender so we will have to wait until that settles down before we can assess him.

Harry Cochrane is another hamstring issue but his initial assessment is that his injury isn’t as bad as Reece. Again he is stiff and sore so we need to wait until it settles to get the clearer picture.

We hope that Kyle Doherty can train on Friday but Saturday will be too soon for him to start.

Young striker Harry McLinden will be sidelined for a bit yet.

We are still in the same position as we were two or three weeks ago with Daniel Church. He had an injury but felt good and returned to training and broke down the same day. We spoke to the consultant who said where the injury is there isn’t a lot of blood flow so even although he feels good he needs to rest for four weeks. We are into that rest period so he will be another week or two yet.

On a positive note, Jack Brydon is feeling really fit and strong and looking forward to an exciting season ahead and Benji Luissint and Leighton McIntosh are both making progress.
